That was very moving, your emotions
were genuine. Jean is very special too.
She was the source of John's inspiration.
I can just imagine John saying "Come here
Jean and tell me which one of these
intros sound better..."
John is very much alive inside the hearts
of many people.

What a GREAT TRIBUTE BILL.I know this had to be hard for all the band members to do but all of you did a fine job and it was so nice to see jean there.

Bill, I'm very rarely speechless but.....
What a great tribute to a great guy and musician! You did yourself proud. It took a lot of guts going to "Hugheyland" but it was right on. WOW!!!!

Thank you for the compliments. Yes it was a VERY emotional time for me, but I knew in my heart that I had to do something to thank John AND Jean for all the great moments we shared.

John was very gracious to me on many occasions and I can assure you, I will never forget the time he allowed me to pick beside him.

I will always miss John.

Mr. Ferguson,
That was a most heart felt tribute to John. John was very special to me. I feel, as I am sure many of you do, "We lost a very dear friend". I am an officer with the Texas Steel Guitar Association and at our recent Steel Guitar Jamboree last March, Larry Sasser, Randy Beavers, Russ Hicks, and Doug Jernigan played a "special tribute" to John
(Look At Us).

All four Steel Guitars played the Intro and then each Guitarist took a turn playing the versus and and bridge parts. Then all four players played the ending part. I here to tell you Sir, there was not a dry eye in the building. About the middle of the song, they showed a slide presentation with pictures of John and Jean through the years and that is when I lost it.

Yes Mr. Freguson, it's like some other Forumits said, "John is most alive in all of us and he will be a part of us for ever".

I just wanted to add my two cents worth to one of the finest people and Steel player that ever lived.

Bill,first off,thank you so much for all the wonderful videos you have made over the years and posted for us all to enjoy.

You are a fine player and a very lucky man to have been able to play next to a legend like John Hughey which the majority of us could have never done.

Bill - Awe inspiring! Your talk at the beginning, your playing and Mrs Hughey beside you all added up to ....well awe inspiring. We can't see John on the video but make no mistake, he was there.

Naturally, after the first viewing I ran it again and sat down at my steel in an attempt to learn "Sweet Memories". Something (inspiration) went directly from my ears to my hands. Still a lot of work to do on it but the normal learning time-frame was definitely compressed. And all this with the frets blurry. Has anyone else experienced this?

Keep the youtubes coming Bill but you've got your work cut out for you to top this one.

Bill.....a very wonderful tribute to Poppa John, one of the few great steelers to ever sit behind a guitar. He was a very good friend, and there's hardly a day goes by that as I sit behind my guitar, that I can hear him playing.....I miss him terribly. I know that all of us do.....My thoughts and prayers are still with Jean and the family. She is such a great lady....and so sweet. If you happen to talk to her anytime soon, Bill, would you please give her our kindest regards from HAL & DEBE HIGGINS from Denham Springs.
