Here we have one of my latest creations, an 8 string prototype of my revised Deco style.
It has a real sweet big and full lush tone.

The specs:
25" scale
35 3/4" long x 10 1/4" wide at lower bout
African mahogany / Khaya with a nice lightly flamed maple
maple / stainless steel string through body bridge
bone nut
Grover tuners
Wallace Tru Tone pickup
inlayed basswood position / fret markers
Tru Oil finish

If National was still doing a New Yorker, yours would still be nicer. It's a New Yorker for the new millenium. It's beautiful and I'll bet it sounds just as good as it looks.

Very cool, Tom. I'm a big fan of the New Yorker design, and yours honors it without being a slavish copy.

Thanks all, I am very happy how it turned out :)

I love the old deco era steels and tried to capture that vintage flavor, but in a modern instrument of my own.
It took a little effort to scale it up from my 6 string version but still keep the proportions correct.

I'm not too sure what my next project is going to be yet, but I've got a couple cool ideas I've been working on and a great stash of woods stockpiled ;)

Just grand Tom. I used the same pickup on my first 8-string also.But as looks go yours is by far first rate!!!!

Thought I'd bump this thread up and add an updated pic of the headstock with logo.

I really like this guitar, but I think 6 strings is about right for me.
