When did you realize you were born to play music ? Show us a photo. For me, it was back in 1968. My first working band. And I still take it seriously !

Now you see, back then it was respectful for all members, not only to look alike, but to wear ties, or all the same shirts. To dress up. Do bands still do this ? When did you know you were bitten by the entertainment bug ?
Cool pic. Don.

1960/1962, the days when the whole band and all the equipment fit in one car.

Thanks Everyone ! I love these older pics. I think that there is something very special about folks that play music. Great players, and the not so great players. The bug bites all, equally.

My first band 1959 "The Galaxies".
Wish I still owned that 1958 Strat I'm holding.
Notice the Fabian sweaters that were popular at the time.

That's me on the far left, and the only guy in the band who could play a bar chord. |

Not the first, but the oldest I could find -
1970 at The Difference Club in West Covina, CA.
That's me with the cool Hofner bass and the constipated expression.

At first I thought better of it, but then everyone needs a good laugh. Early 1973, we were the opener for Bill Anderson.

Here's a couple of shots of of old bands. The first is the the "Gaushaus Ramblers" taken at the NCO Club at Wiley Barracks in Neu Ulm, Germany sometime in 1959. I'm the skinny kid with the big old blond archtop. I can't remember what brand it was, but it was a German guitar.
The second shot was taken at the Swizzle Stik in Huntington Beach, California somtime in 1977. I'm on Telecaster, fellow Forumite Stephan Silver is on pedal steel, Vern Costner on Bass, Monte Paul on drums, and the lovely JoAnne Rinard on vocals....JH in Va.

This was my first group called "The
sunset Boys" and pic was taken around
55/56 in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia
My Lap Steel and amp(on the right) was
a Christmas gift from my parents bought
out of Sears Catalogue. I think it was
a Harmony or Silvertone
