The Southwestern Steel Guitar Association (SSGA) has it's website up and running. It's v-e-r-y basic for now but will be transforming over the next little while. The link is www.swsteelguitar.com and the "Events" page has the early details of the Winter Jam 2003 (Jan. 25th & 26th).

I'm plugging in the pictures that Billy Easton has sent (from the first event). I have the names ready to go for some of the pictures but any of you who are in them please send me the info so I can give you credit (if the photos are not numbered yet, just count from the top left to right and provide me with that number and then identify yourself, or anyone else, left to right as well).....thanks!

I will be in Tucson from Feb.15 till Feb.23, and would like to hear some steel playing. If anybody knows of any places to go, I would appreciate it.
Sincerely,
John DeMaille V.P.-P.S.G.A.

John,

There is a young man named Dan (I'm completely blanking on his last name because I've got the name Dan Hill flashing in the brain..dang) that I met at the last AZ event and he plays, I think, 5-nights a week. He calls kinda regular and I'll find out the details next time I hear back. Of course, Hal Rugg is mostly in Tucson now as well but I don't think he's plugged into the local scene as yet.
I usually do 4 to 5 corporate things at either the Westin La Paloma or at a local ranch throughout the month, but I don't have the dates as yet. It's just corporate music but we could probably sneak you in if you wanted to hang out. I'll update my schedule at www.mikeandt.com as soon as I know.

Mike
