June Continuous Swingin' West-M Gross
The June edition of the recorded continuous airing of "Swingin' West" has just come up on the Internet on twangtownusa.com. It will be on 24 hours a day seven days a week, over and over, for the entire month.
The theme for this month, June, is a trip around North America and a salute to Western Swing bands based in many of the areas. Among the sounds you will hear will be from CDs by Connecticut’s Gunsmoke as well as San Francisco, California’s Lost Weekend with Don Burnham at the helm and Burlington, Vermont’s Rick & the Ramblers featuring Rick Norcross.
You will enjoy fantastic contemporary Western Swing bands such as Nashville’s John England and the Western Swingers and New York City’s Western Caravan. The great state of Texas is represented with former AWA Band of the Year, the River Road Boys from Houston, Jody Nix from Big Spring and both Billy Mata & Texas Tradition and Bobby Flores and the Yellow Rose Band both from San Antonio.
Also heard will be Washington, DC’s Oklahoma Twisters, Las Cruces, New Mexico’s Desperados, Ohio’s, Back Porch Swing Band, Toronto, Ontario’s Bebop Cowboys with Howard Willett on vocal and Philadelphia, PA’s Beats Walkin’ with leader Jim Cohen featured on vocal and steel. The wonderful Texas steel guitarist Jim Loessberg is heard doing the show’s closing theme.
The recorded edition of "Swingin' West" can always be heard by clicking the mouse on the appropriate spot on the bottom of the home page of the "Swingin' West" web site, www.swinginwest.com
Thank You!
