Do you realize stats show he could cover those ten yards before you'd have time to react, and it would be too late?

Yes, but it might be a really heavy knife and he'll struggle to reach me before I'm offski.
It's like when me and the missus are visiting friends and she thinks I'm becoming embarrassing and she'll look daggers at me. I just look shields back.
Sorry, Mikey. At times I can't take anything seriously. No offence intended.
Arch.

few statistics:
more kids dies from drowning in a bathtub than from guns each year
in 90% cases where gun was used, it was used for a self defense
90% gun fights play out on 1-2 feet distance
in 90% cases, gun fight is over after 1-2 rounds fired
far more people die each year from being misdiagnosed by their doctors than from gun`s
there was school shooting sprees that ended by CCW permit hollder killing a attacker but we don`t know about them because media don`t like gun`s..
last case I know was in Memphis when BG shot police officer dead and than ren over him with his car, while he was reloading he got killed by a citizen who had a CCW permit..police never filed any charges against the citizen....
and remember, gun law`s are only made for people who obey them, criminals will always have gun`s, they don`t obey the law..that`s why we call them criminals...

Well, I see enough information posted in this to get several people fired from their jobs, and a couple days worth of self incriminating testimony against anyone unlucky enough to have to shoot somebody in self defense.
I lost a job over some cartoonish stuff I posted on the internet, thought it was a job I was MUCH better off without, and I think that was my unconcious aim. I'd been trying to ditch them for about a year.
Take care what you post here.
There IS no 'Freedom of Speech' here.
You could easily come home and find your computer being carted out to a forensic computer section because somebody objects to what you say here and forwards it to "concerned authorities...
Expecially when it comes to "guns", and "self defense".
You could have to hire a few thousand dollar lawyer to get your stuff back, ,minus your bootleged mp3s and "freeware". Not to mention explain your statements to a jury deciding a self defense case of you EVER are unlucky enough to be stuck in one.....
Just some words to the wise..

well Eric , this may be true in those states that OUTLAW any handgun ownership. I can't say. But I do know that in NC and surrounding states ANY person can own, carry etc on there own property without license or permit. IF they have not actually shot anyone or fired the handgun they have committed NO crime and have broken no laws.
I didn't read anything above which indicates that someone in this thread would maliciously carry concealed and use the handgun with "intent". The thread is about having a legal permit to carry.
Now, I would agree that if someone is stating that they would NEVER get a legal permit and carry concealed wherever the heck they wanted, that could be an interesting read for "those" who may stop by for a quick read.
The internet is FILLED to capacity with handgun debates, I doubt our thread is saying anything much different than any other forums other than we are admitting to the world that we are Steel Guitar players
Must have been one heck of a cartoon !
Glad you are doing ok

I think this has drifted far enough from the original question to be worth closing.
