This is a question for Bill.

Bill, do you have this song from Buddy. I heard he's play this song at the St.Louis convention.

I love this song very much.

Marcel, in april of 06 I recorded Buddy playing Shennadoa by his self at Benton IL.I wept. I sent this to Bill Ferguson. so far Bill has posted Blue Jade of of this video, maybe with a little coaxing we could con him in to putting Shenendoa on U TUBE for us all to enjoy. I will say there was a guy kept walking in front of the camera.

I'd love to hear Buddy do it. Frank Rogers has a beautiful version, that also has some of the prettiest violin I've ever heard. Also Reggie Duncan does it great. Bill, your version is very pretty too.

I am not sure if this CD is still in production it is "Pure and Simple Country" and it is Mike Sweeney's steel solo of the song. I have heard countless people play this song and several on the pedal steel.....but there is no better....no more compelling....and certainly no more beautiful version of this song on the steel than what Mike Sweeney performs on this CD. If you like the song and most do...you certainly owe it to yourself to hear Mike's version. If you don't play the song you will after hearing this version. Having said that I haven't heard Reggie or Bill's version...but I have Mikes and I listen to it often

What an amazing voice both tenn' Ernie Ford and Sissel have, but I too would love to see Buddy play this lovely melody. As beautiful as Sissel is to the eye and the ears if i had to make a video choice it would be big E's shanondoah without question.

Yep, I was there. I thought I recognized Buddy`s shirt!
Beautiful playing! This is what I would show to people who don`t love the pedal steel yet.

That to me is amazingly beautiful , but what else do we expect from Mr Emmons he always finds the most fitting positions and timbre for every tune he plays.

For my money, this version by Jo Stafford is the gold standard for vocal versions of this beautiful song. For the arrangement, her flute-like perfect intonation and above all, the feeling she communicates, it remains unsurpassed.
