Hey, all you Maine moose hunters...

Post by Dan Beller-McKenna »

For all the hunting types, (or gun control lefties like me, for that matter) my band Blue Train will be performing for the Maine Moose license Lottery at the Kittery Trading Post, Kittery Maine, this Thursday (6/12) from 4 to 6. Our contract stipulates "Music should not include profanities or distasteful music" ... ... now how are we supposed to honky tonk to that?!? :?

Saturday we'll be back in NH at Linda's Sports bar in Hudson (9-1).

Hey Dan - Sounds like a great gig - will you be under the Teepeee or the big target? Ha!

Sorry I won't be able to make it, I'm out of town this week. Hope to see you in Hudson sometime soon. Have a great time!

Wish I could make it. I have to work from 1-5 on Thursday. Never make it there in time. Kittery Trading post isn't just about guns. It has alot of stuff we all can agree on like fishing and shoes. Have fun.

Don;t get me wrong Brian; I'm a big fan of the KTP, shop there often. I just suspect there will be a gun emphasis among the invited vendors that day, given the nature of the event.

Some of the guys in my band are giddy over the prospect of picking up some new "pieces." They're very tolerant and respectful of my politics though. Not sure a band made up of academic liberals (like me) would be as tolerant of a blue-collar gun owner in their midst.

I used to hunt Maine Moose with my car. Not on purpose actually, but those huge things would appear out of nowhere and cross the road in front of you. And they never budged or moved out of the way. It was just a snort at this metal thing and they would keep walking.

Once there was one crossing the road in front, with about 4 small ones in tow. Again, I came to a screeching halt. Never hit any, but if I had of, they would have found this squashed pile of metal in the road.

That, and the subzero weather made me happy to leave there. Main is a beautiful place, just not for me.

Dan - I'm not from Maine, but I am a hunter. I'm glad to see that there are supportive events like this around the country!
