Topic: Session 400 with Silver Grill Cloth? |

Does anybody have a pic of one they could post or email me? I'm thinking of replacing my ripped grill cloth with a silver one and wanted to see what it looked like. Thanks!

| Chris, Session 400 amps with silver grill cloths are pictured on Curly Chalker's "More Ways To Play" LP. I will try and get this scanned and e-mailed to you. I have a silk screened logo Session 400 and I've also thought about installing the Fender type grill cloth. |

How about doing it in tweed? This one sounds better than it looks, it was "Sarno-ized" before Brad got too busy building those preamp thingys.

To my knowledge, The grill cloth color does nothing for the tone of the Amp.
I do in fact think it might do something for the tone of the Brain in our heads. |

Here are Session 400 images from Chalker's "More Ways To Play" LP on Midland Records. I seem to remember Chalker & Hughey (and I'm sure other steel players) were consulted on the original design of the Session 400.

Jeff, if I recall correctly, they were introduced in 1973 and went into the early 80's. There was a Session 400 "Limited" introduced in the 80s that differed from the Session and Session LTD, which were essentially the same amp in a different size cabinet.
I also used mine for guitar until I blew the prized JBL. Now I keep the volume down and treat the new JBL with the respect it deserves.
