It would be interesting to put a five string banjo neck on one of those and get Bela Fleck to play it. |

The Coral Electric Sitar. I saw one not long ago. Invented by a N.Y session guitarist, whose name I can't recall. |

I think around in the 70's used to see a few of them being played quite a lot,Can't recall the names of them right now[can hardly remember what I had for supper]But seems there several hit songs with them on the records.DYKBC. _________________ Hard headed, opinionated old geezer. I still hear what sounds like an electric sitar in many new tunes although it could be a sitar bar on a steel.
The TSOP session band from Sigma Sound in Philly used one regularly on the soul hits of the 70-80's. The Stylistics, Delphonics, and many more great groups recorded there.
Vinnie Bell invented the Bellzoukie (an electric 12 string) the electric sitar and other cool stuff at the Danelectro compnay in north jersey.
The original's were made by Danelectro and it looks like Rogue is making them now. |
