Yes, you guys were talking of " GOOSE BUMPS", while listening to these two out-standing Steel Guitarists, playing one of John's greatest hits. I even had COLD CHILLS running down my arms and legs, and a puddle of water on the floor , after hearing this duo doing their absolute best.. Sensational is the word I was looking for.

I wonder if they had rehearsed?
They must have at least practiced it separately huh?

But then one never knows.

This, to me, settles the 'tone is in the hands' argument.

Lloyd sounds like only Lloyd can, and Jeff has got that Carter sounding like a million dollars

I would guess that there was no rehearsal together.
Jeff was notorious for setting up these "special moments" at the ISGC and other shows.

It would really be hard to top this one.
Remember it was from 1995 and that was even BEFORE John Hughey had ever played the ISGC.

Bill ,you are certaining correct about no one topping this session with Jeff and Lloyd; The pleasure I receive is watching Jeff's facial expressions of admiration of a fellow steel players ability and performance. I learned this song not too long ago, and now I know how far there is to go. If there were only one video of E9 playing to save, this would be it. The music and player chemistry here is in a class by itself, and what better song for the text of it!

I'm proud to have shaken one of these hands (and won't forget it), and really ought to find a way to shake the other while there's still time.

A big thank you for this clip.
It was truley out of this world and from two of my most favorite players in the world.
It goes to show that Jeff was not only the best teacher but truly a great steel player as well.
And as far as Lloyd what more can we say about him that hasn't been said already.

I've just now seen the clip where Jeff and Lloyd played Look At Us and it sure brought back many fond memories. Jeff should be given credit, and I've done that many times, that it was him that organized many such events such as this one and 100% were on the spot and spontanious. So many things happended at the Chase Park Plaza hotel back in the 1970's and early 1980's. How about the jam session on lap steels? I "think" it was myself and Speedy West that held a Rickenbacker steel extended in the and Buddy Emmnons came underneath it and played his jam upside down! This would be difficult enough but what made it even more difficult was when the fretboard fell off! I don't think that Buddy missed a lick! I think Jeff also played the guitar upside down..

What is going to happen with all those videos, reel to reel, cassettes, DAT, mini disc recordings and now directly onto CD? I now have three machines that can make a DVD from the video. The RCA never worked from day one, I had it repaired and it still doen't work, a Sony - even Russ Wever couldn't get it work and one more - a identical Sony at my store and it workds ok. At this particular time I have not made one copy of any of the conventions on DVD yet. One day the videos might be stuck together and will not work at all. The one that does work is at Scotty's Music and we are so busy no one has the time to start making copies. I've saved everthing since 1968 and have visions of it all going down the drain. Has anyone offered to help? Yes, one person but he is in business to do that and we could not afford to pay any high price to pursue that route.

Bill Ferguson has a duplicate copy of all the shows he attended but has assured me that he will not make any copies without my permission. I believe that he is serious about that. My wife, Mary, just might win out. She plans an oversized casket and will bury all those items with me. Plus I have many, many boxes of newsletters, magazines, personal notes written by famous steel players and most of it was way back when you couldn't even see the words, Steel Guitar, in print! Plus over 14,000 photos of players. Of course there are many dupicates but even with that it is a stagering figure. What is the answer? Down the drain? Scotty
