Cajones

You're asking for input so here it is... one man's opinion.

When you first came aboard, some of us wondered what your deal was. To be honest, I wasn't sure how to take you but I found myself somewhat amused. With your second contribution I began to think you might not be too bad and a welcome if not entertaining addition to the forum. Everyone respects an honest attempt and certainly no one can fault Terry's playing.

Then, for reasons known but to God, you chose to publically flame and humiliate one of our members who played (IMO) a wonderful rendition of a song in C6th. You have no idea how hard he may have worked on it and when finished, he proudly shared his craftsmanship with the world. Now you're back seeking approval from the very people you offended. I'm not the brightest bulb in the closet but I ask myself... "what's wrong with this picure?"

We're kind of a friendly bunch in here Billy. We don't always agree but the one thing we try to be is respectful in our opinions and disagreements. The hallmark of our group is the help and encouragement we pass along to each other. Criticism is gentle and for the most part, respectful. Speaking for myself, folks like you are the reason some of us hesitate to put our efforts on youtube. The last thing our egos needs is to be beat up and humiliated by those we consider to be our friends.

I don't know what your problem is Billy. However, I think you may have some fences to mend and some attitude changes to make make before trying to ingratiate yourself in here. An apology might be a good place to start.

Respectfully... rc
The only thing better than doing what you love is having someone that loves you enough to let you do it.

My Apologies

Post by John McGlothlin »

I would like to let everyone know that I apologize for my low class way of acting childish about the country music issue. Yes I do have a love for good western swing and jazz music and I do favor the C6th tuning over the E9th but thats beside the point. I had no right to use George Jones and his music as a negative example of my opinion and I apologize for that. Yes I do own a proffessional pedal steel but that alone does not make me a musician.

Wise advice Dennis.....very wise.
There is an Off-topic forum for that.As far as positive or negative advice goes.......Terry is a very good picker and well known over the forum Billy Ray.Negative advice for Terry I have none.....for you how ever I would not know where to start.

"Cojones" you say Billy?.....Man you have cojones the size of Westminster church bells.First you tear down Gary.....and now you expect positive and "Negative" advice?Well I hope you sit down and have some tissues handy....You'll be needing them. One word of advice to you.....sell your equipment....you are "NO" singer and never will be.

And that's all I gotta say about that

I really like Terry's playing, and I could tolerate your singing if I didn't have to see you or read your foolish comments. I wish this forum had an 'ignore' feature like some others have because I some times forget names. I would surely add your name, right next to John McGlothlin.

I guess its not so much the kind of music that is identified by any type of instrument but the listeners themselves.

Billy Ray,The post you made on May the 8th [A LOT OF WEIRD PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM] sums it up,Seems you came out of the gate trying to agitate and besmear members of this forum. Then when someone did a parody of your GOD awful vidio, you said YOUR feelings were HURT.if you want to vindicate yourself, since this is a steel guitar forum, not a forum for wannabe vocalists, post a vidio of YOUR STEEL PLAYING.DO YOU HAVE THE BA&&^ TO DO THAT? Maybe you could teach some of the weird guys with the big egos a few new licks,Come on now don't be bashful, show them what you got.DYKBC.
