Thank you. Darn fine playing! :D
The only thing better than doing what you love is having someone that loves you enough to let you do it.

That's great Peter! Would you tell us how you arranged your camera, what you used to record with etc. Maybe I could pick up some pointers!
Good work!

How I did it?

Post by Peter Nylund »

Hi Bent, I will give you the whole truth and nothing but the truth. First of all I stole one of Gary's BIAB tracks, saved it as a midi file, imported it to the Steinberg software, put some virtual guitars on it and started recording. I must admit I did a couple of rehearsals but mostly to get the camera adjusted. The video rendition is done with Windows Movie Maker.
Gary had a request but I posted the video anyway.

And why not, tone, touch and taste, whats not to like. And Peter has an accent too, no wait, I have the accent.

Great playing and you're getting a very nice tone on your Mullen.

Hehe well Gary's gotta stick his nose in it anyway. :-)

About the camera...did you use a regular camcorder with the built-in mic? If so, it's a darn good recording.
Did you use Windows movie maker to edit the vid AFTER the recording? As you see I am green at this and want to learn pretty bad.

Yep, that's Finland. Nothing but snow, evergreens and birches. It takes me right down memory lane and back to Norway

The camera

Post by Peter Nylund »

Bent, I used a Canon MV 800 camera with built-in microphone. Unfortunately I got a little distortion in the sound as I was playin maybe a tad too loud. The video was not edited in Movie Maker, I just inserted the text in the beginning and in the end including the transitions which also can be found in Movie Maker.

Here is another version of the tune where I did not use the camera's microphone.

It's gonna be quite a production.
Should not be long now.
