Here is a wonderful documentary on the late, great Adolph Hofner. I know it's been posted on here before, but I wanted the newbies to be exposed to this unique musician.

Lee,
Thank you, amigo! Adolph Hofner's name should be known by another generation of music fans.
I am so glad that I had suggested to Geoff Gruetzmacher, the producer to contact Adolph's last living band member and music historian Junior Mitchan in the planning stages of this movie. Junior was thrilled to see the completed movie. Unfortunately, he died a few days later but added so much to the movie. He was a legend that was a part of both the bands of Adolph and Bob Wills.

Awesome! It's great to hear all the energy and enthusiasm in Adolph's music. How great it was when we were all able to play for huge crowds, SRO even in samll towns and have dedicated fans follow us all over the place. He seems to have the sincerity and dedication to putting on a show like all the greats. Thanks for posting this Lee.

I can't get this past the buffering stage so this may be in the post. During the war Adolph reminded people of Hitler so Adolph became known as Dolph. He was to appear in St Louis but I thought that Dolph was someone else and didn't intend to go however a DJ named Cal Tinney anounced that Dolph was Adolph so I went and the show was great. I sat in the front row in front of Bash, the steel player and Dolphs brother and he made that 6strg Rick sound great.Adolph had to do Maria Elena 4 times in two hrs. cc |

Lee,
I can't thank you enough bringing this thread back. Working on this documentary about Adolph is definitely one of the big thrills of my almost thirty years in radio. _________________ Mike |
