Steve Smith
That looks like my friend and one of my favorite steel players -- a young Steve Smith...

Great Steel Player!!
Thanks Andy for the video's of Steve. He's been a tremendous studio-TV-band player for years in Canada.
Last month at the Dallas show I convinced Steve to jam with me in the Rains room and the steel he played had the knee levers so close together that he could not get under and play it right (so he claimed)! I thought to myself, OK, this is unplanned but I might have a slight chance to keep up with Steve. Well, you guessed it...he still blew me out of the water with his playing.
I can still see him looking at me red faced and smiling (picking incredible) and muttering, "My knees are too fat for these knee levers!"
Super person and super player!
I believe that was Mike "Pepe" Francis on guitar who is a monster guitar player another guitar hero!
By the way Steve, I did secure a BL XR-16 pickup as you suggested...

Steve Smith and Mike Francis are legends!
I have admired their playing for years.
I first met Steve Smith on the Ronnie Prophet Show in the early 80's.
At the time, I was working with Terry Carisse.
Steve was so gracious. I really appreciated his company because I was scared to death. I was hanging out with one of the best!
