Rick, you'll have a spot I'm sure. Frank you missed a good show. Probably Donley's bass player Mike Smith will be there. I just fill in when he can't make it. See ya at the next Country Your Way though.

I love to listen to the steel guitar. I was giving a 1956 Gibson Skylark Lap steel and Gibson Amp. I don't know what it is worth but I'm going to learn to play it. I hope by going to this event on the 26th and 27th I can find someone to help me learn to play.

This needed to be brought back to the top. Just a little over two short weeks before Siloam Springs, Arkansas becomes the Steel Guitar Capital of the world for two days! Myrick has told me so much about a lot of the people listed in Norma Jeans first post that I can't wait to get over there to see them play. Come on guys...don't disappoint me.

Maybe someone will ask Norma Jean to sing a Tammy Wynette song...or two...or three...

On a side note-I talked to Donley today and he said Larry was still a ways from being his old self yet. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I've only talked to Larry once and from what I understand he may not even remember it as it was a day or two before he went to the hospital. If you don't remember it Larry I want to say again what I said that night...I'm really impressed with what you've accomplished in such a short time sliding the bar accross the strings. Hope your well enough to make it out to Siloam.

Frank owns Battlefield Cabinet Shop across the street from my office here in beautiful downtown Pea Ridge, America and I have known him and his dad for several years, great neighbors and country music fans. He is a great new addition to The Forum. This year is a sad one for my wife and I attending our own April Branson Jam and The Siloam Show as we have prior committments that cannot be altered and must miss them both.

If any of you at The Siloam Show want to practise your Hughey licks, get Frank up to sing "Fifteen Years Ago" (in C ) I told him any lower and E-neck boys have a problem-

Dana and Randy Stewart are taking pictures for me to post on our web site from the Branson Jam on the 20th and if someone will snap a few from the Siloam Show I'll post some on the forum. Mr Fred, I have warned Frank about you being "something else" so don't disappoint me buddy-

Incidently, Miss Eva has been wearing that darned hat she got from you in her garden and there's not a bird within 3 blocks of here anymore.

Hey Bill, putting me up to singing ain't a bad idea. This shindig is over at 6:00 Sunday and if they would put me on stage at 5:55 you could see how fast I can clear a building! Fire alarms don’t have nothing on me! Everyone scrambling trying to get their stuff together, small children crying and holding their hands over their ears, every dog in Siloam Springs howling in unison… sounds like some made for TV horror movie.

I don't know very much about Siloam, but I tried many motels, and they were sold out..Said it was graduation week, as well as the Dogwood festival...
Try the Super 7 motel..It's on hwy 412 in Siloam...# 479-524-5157..You might get lucky...

Show is at the Sager Creek Arts and Community Center..two blocks or so from the Siloam Springs Hospital..
Saturday,26 April..about 9:30 a.m. to about 10:30 p.m.
Sunday,27 April..12:00 noon til about 6:00 p.m.
Bring about 200 people and come on down for some good music, and good fun..

Don't want to muddy the motel waters unneccessarily but remember, Springdale, Ar. is only a short 20 minute drive from Siloam and has boocoos of motels---do a search for them.-

My wife has also pointed out that there is around 3 casino's not too far from Siloam with some motels around them. Although she is not sure of the quality. I think she was hinting that she may be sitting with a bucket of quarters at her side on that day. That's okay as long as she remembers to pick me up.

Rick : The Cherokee Casino is actually right there in town allbeit across the line on the Oklahoma side (by a couple hundred yards) and The town is called West Siloam Springs. It is a large upscale casino and I didn't know about the motel there but if they have one you can bet it's state of the art. They are in process of building a larger and newer Casino even though the existing one isn't that old and very nice. (Follow the money trail) -

The other two Casinos aren't really within driving distance to the show.

This was my first time going and I had alot of fun. I hope I can learn to play my lap steel like Austin. This was the first to hear him and he is great. Can't wait for next year. Thanks for all the good music and I know I got along ways to go to play that good. Thanks again for a good time.

Thanks for the kind words about Austin. Glad you enjoyed hearing him. I want to thank the SSSGC for giving Austin his own set by himself this year. Most of the shows are doing that and I think it helps both Jerry and Austin. They still enjoy playing together, but a set each on there own lets people know what each can do & I think after 7 or 8 years of playing with Papa, Austin has proved he can hold his own by himself. Thanks again Siloam Springs for giving them both a chance!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my first time attending a Steel Convention. I only attended on Sunday. I dont play but I do sing some and the Steel has always been my favorite instruement. Fell in love with the Steel when I was about 10 yrs old watching Bill Simmons play with the Lundstroms. Drums are a tight second fav for me.

GREAT CONVENTION! Really enjoyed the 14 yr old (?) player. I also highly enjoyed the drummer on Sunday.
