Just wanted to give props to Bill Stroud. I got one of his bars at the TSGA and I'm really digging it. Here's a copy of the email I sent to him......I think it sums up my feelings about the bar pretty well.

Hi Bill,

Took one of your bars home from the TSGA, and I've got to say I really like it. There is definetly more sustain and what I can only describe as a "clearer" tone.

I was a little skeptical at first, because I didnt think a bar could make much of a difference in tone, but it really does.

I like the design of the bar too.....it's very intelligent and tastefull, the transition into the radius is really smooth, and the subtle, slightly "pointed" tip makes for nice pull offs.

I got the 12 string bar, and I'm glad I did. That little extra length is perfect for my big hands, and actually gives me a little more control over the bar.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Joe,
The bar made a believer out of Gerry Walker as he demostrated one of the bars at his booth and what a difference in tone with his same settings on his GD Walker Stereo amp setup. All he did was use his bar, and then use my bar which he kept he really liked it. Maybe if he sees this he can better explain his feelings about the different tone.
Thanks for using the BJS Bar.
Bill

I tried a BJS Bar over at Ron Bryson's house when I first started playing steel. I purchased a used one off the forum the very next day. I've dropped it on concrete, asphalt, tile and used it once for a hammer and to this day it doesn't have a scratch on it. Clear tone, more sustain and it's seems to be indestructible.

Thanks Bill for such a fine product.

This will really sound like a stupid question based on this thread but I will ask it anyway. Many years ago when I first started playing steel I purchased a MSA bar that has a plastic sort of inlay for your fingers to rest on. It is great for grip and it is the only bar I have.

It sounds to me that I may be really missing out on sound enhancement by purchasing one of these bars. I assume you will all YES!
