Here's my new 8 String by Ryan Rukavina.

I just can't say enough good things about this guy and his creations.

Not only is it beautiful but it sounds incredible. It has an acoustic type tone from the chambered neck cavity that you could compare to the sound of a 335 maybe. Well along those lines but not exactly. It's a whole different animal.

The specs are,

One piece Mahogany body.
Maple bound Koa fingerboard with
open hole fret markers.
Koa head cap.
Pair of Lollar stringmaster pickups.
Volume, tone and blend knobs.
Really cool jack cup thing-a-ma-job.
Stainless steel bridge. As far as I know this is Ryan's own design. Completely awesome looking and functional as well.
Gotoh tuners.
3/8" bridge and 5/16" nut string spacing.

You would have to see it up close to really appreciate how well built this thing is. The inlayed parts like the pickup ring and back cover are perfectly fit. Also it plays like a dream.

He built this to my specifications but still managed to keep it one of his one creations which I'm most happy about.

Thank you again Ryan.

Thanks John.

I'm working on some way to record but I'm not sure if I want to go direct to computer or try something else. Just haven't made up my mind yet. If anyone has any sugestions I'd love to hear them.

Here's some better pictures Ryan took.

Dave, That is a great looking guitar and I am certain that the sound is also great. Ryan does a wonderful job on all of the lap steels that he builds and is a great guy to work with on whatever you want in your guitar. I own the first 8 string lap steel that Ryan built and am well pleased with all aspects of the guitar. Happy picking,
Felix

That's a beauty. I really like the recessed tone/volume pots.

Hey Ryan that's sweet !! Like the flame on the finger board. Loving my new axe a lot. Everyone I show it to is blown away. Whoa!

Went with the Pre Sonus Firebox but haven't had time to mess with it yet. I'll email you when I've done something worth while.

Dave
