| We had a surprise visit at our regular meeting from Lynn Owsley. SURPRISE!!!! It was a wonderful treat to see my friend there. We had a great show thanks to Kevin Grissom his band and singers, Dave Richardson his band and singers,Lynn Owsley and his band. GREAT SHOW! Those members that missed it will be sorry. |

You are absolutely right Bob, this was a great show and not only because Lynn graced us with his good humor and excellent steel playing. Here's a list of what everyone who wasn't there missed:
Steel: Kevin Grissom, Dave Richardson, Lynn Owsley
Guitar: Boogie Sherard, Richard 'Witchita' Douthitt, Mike Dean, Richard Kemp
Bass: Danny Forbis, Frank Higdon, Doug Richardson
Drums: Judy Brummett, Gary Braun
Keyboards: Doug Richardson
Vocals: Danny Forbis, Christy Miller, 'Yodelin' Faye Kessler, Todd Nalley, Witchita, Mike Dean
Fiddle: Paul Goodpaster
This was certainly one of our best shows ever and the steel playing was excellent! And it's always great to have good singers for everyone to play along with.
Thanks to everyone for making this one of our best attended shows too...I think we had almost 60 folks at one time! |

I forgot to mention the new link on the "Links" page, to Streaming Audio from KWKH in Shreveport, Louisiana. That's the station the Louisiana Hayride was on, and now call them selves "The Home of The Legends". Good music and very good streaming quality.

Yep Dad was tickled to see Lynn Owsley there too! He said it was one of those months where there were lots of pickers and he almost "got away clean"... then Lynn showed up *wink* and he said I had to drag out the "Green Darlin".... I'm sure that broke his heart  Thank you all at the club for making Dad feel so special. His memory is getting a little worse all the time and he really feels like putting away his pick most days.... but then, he gets a breath of life when he picks with all his buddies! Thank you so much!!! As long as he is able, I will continue to push him to "GO PICK" !!!!  |
