Post by Bernie Gonyea »

 :whoa:  :D
C'mon, guys and gals; let us all know what the excitement was at the Dallas Jamboree last week; You've had enough time to get rested up. Whom, What, or Why impressed you. We other forumites are waiting to hear about every thing and every-one whom made you feel welcome. Did my buddy from the U.K. get to do all he had on his long list of want-tos. Yes, I'm talking about Dave Hartley. Did he put on a good session at The Rains Booth? Sorry, circumstances prevented me from attending. I was there in spirit. Glad you folks got to take it all in, you lucky devils.. Regards, Bernie :whoa: :x

The Dallas Show 2008

Post by Bernie Gonyea »

:) Hi Brain: Thanks for your in-put on the great show 2008 in Dallas. Wow, you really did get to mingle with many of my favorite forumites;I had wanted to meet David and Mickey in person; Can't wait to receive the two CD's by David that another Forumite was to pick up for me. Last week I ordered a copy of Fred Justice's " MIXing IT UP " CD. I think I've already worn the music right off the Disc; have played it so much. Fred was another Gent whom I was looking forward to shaking his hand; A favorite steel player on my LIST. I've bought more CD's in the little over a year I've belonged to the forum, then during the 40 Active years while playing. Now, I have the TIME to sit back and really enjoy the talents of all you steel guitar PROS and want to be PROS; and every one whom just loves GREAT STEEL GUITAR MUSIC. Glad you had a superb time, Brain. Is this Island you have listed on your avatar, located down in the Galveston Area of Texas?
Thanks for sharing your points of view about the great show. Regards, Bernie  :D :)

Dallas Show

Post by Joe Rouse »

Hello Bernie,
The Dallas Jamboree was great. I am a newbie to psg and have been taking lessons for 1 year, and never in my dreams did I think I would hear so much great steel guitar playing. I met some really nice people, both vendors and players, and buyers and students like me. Some vendors didn't have the time to answer questions from a newbie, but most were very nice and considerate and willing to answer questions.
I finally met Herb Steiner which was a pleasure, Fred Remington, a very nice man, Jr. Knight, and was able to see my friend Jody Sanders, and the church service was wonderful. I liked it so well I have made my reservations for next year. I met some friends from Houston that came to Dallas and they were equally impressed, needlessly to say they made reservations for next year.
Hard work went into the show and it was appreciated by this newbie. One other mention, we met Ann and John Fabian at the Carter displays and were very impressed by there merchandising and products. Letting me and my friend sit down to a Carter D-10 and pick a while left a lasting impression..jr
