John Heinrich receives 2nd EXCEL Steel Guitar!

Post by Jane Roberts »

John just called me and informed me of this exciting news! On Monday March 3, John Heinrich received his second Steel Guitar from Mitsuo Fujii, owner and builder of EXCEL steel Guitars. The Steel is a single neck with a pad on the back. John has really been looking forward to getting this Steel as he does so much session and live work in and around Nashville and this Steel is very portable.

Here is John playing the new EXCEL steel guitar on it's first session at Gene Breeden's studio in Nashville, Tennessee! John told me the sound of this guitar is "just wonderful!"

Hey Jane, I just now got home from doing a session and checked the forum and saw your post! Thank you for the kind words! The first session I did with the Steel was at Gene Breeden's studio and after I heard the the sound I was getting and the play back I knew this was an exceptional guitar! Mitsuo makes his own pickups now and WOW! I was at Razzy Bailey's studio and he flipped over the sound as well!

Thanks again!

Hello John,

Seems very unusual to have 8 pedals on a S-10 psg. Would you please share your copedant with us?

Nice guitar, I like the color.

Thanks you guys for all the kind words! I just talked with Gene Breeden at Gene Breeden studios in Nashville and he said the sound of this Steel was totally awesome and we both agreed that it had a special sound quality to it. I'll hear the tracks we did tomorrow as I'll be at Gene's studio tracking some new tracks with the new Steel!

If any of you Steelers out there are coming to Nashville be sure to drop me a line, that goes for any International players also.

All the best,
John

Excel

Post by Ted Nesbitt »

Hi John, congratulations on receiving your new Excel, its a real beauty. I am waiting on my new Excel SD10 4+5. Hope to have it in the next couple of weeks. At present I am playing an Excel SD10 3+5 which was custom built for Sarah Jory. The tone from this guitar is amazing, and if the new one sounds like the SJ guitar, I will be very happy. It would be nice to have you over to one of our Steel Guitar Festival sometime. "Keep on steelin"
