The whole system is about to die and will be replaced in a week or so. Evertything in this PC will be history. It can't be saved.

Get yourself a Belkin Transfer Cable when you get your new computer. Install the software that comes with it, follow the instructions, and you can transfer ALL of your files that you now have on your old computer into your new one. I did it when I got my new computer, and it worked great. All of my music, pictures and documents went into my new computer. The only thing it won't transfer is programs.

I think the cost is around $40.00, but it's worth it if you want to save your "stuff."

Yu should be able to find a good computer geek somewhere in your area who could take your hard drive, mount it in another machine and recover all your stuff to a new hard drive.

I've been through that several times and managed to get back virtlually everything
