King Crimson on Steel

Post by Jim Cohen »

My version of 'Epitaph' by King Crimson (from my CD, 'Home, James' ) has just been posted over at Charles Tilley's amazing website: www.etsga.org/steelguitarplayers.htm

Hope you enjoy it. Warning: it's long; about 7 minutes, so might be a challenge for Dial-up users.

Wow! I can't think of a single way to improve on that, Jim. How did you get that great background to play to?

Thanks, guys. And Billy! Can't wait to see you and Ann in Dallas. I owe you two a brew, y'know! (Of course, you know. That's the main reason you're coming, free beer, right?) ;)

Very nice Jim. Went very well with my morning coffee.

My twelve year old thought it was a pretty awesome track, Dude! ;-)

Cheers,

Richard

Boy, was I skeptically interested in hearing this, easily one of my top 100 tunes, and Jim, you and your cohorts did a super version.
Thanx for nailing it, and posting!

Up for The Devil's Triangle next?

How about 21st century schizoid man.
Definitely a challange for steel, it would be a study in dissonance.
Also, as a listoning experience, it would not be for the musically faint of heart.

Jim, great job. Easily one of my favorite King Crimson songs. Do you by chance have this tabbed out?

Thanks, Michael. Sorry, not tabbed out. And unless a buncha people start throwing money, I don't have any current plans to do so. ;)

Jim-Yes! It was a long download for my slow ISP, but worth it to hear your latest. It's different.Quite a fine bunch of Musicians.I like the songs that you have played in the Minor Keys. Do you remember "Bei Meir mis duchain"(I dont remember the spelling). We did that in the late 40's, I think the Andrews Sisters did it.
The Steel guitar is capable of some beautiful music in the right hands.....al.:):)
