Communication is not too good concerning the show. I paid online for a 4 day pass by credit card over a month ago and have no response concerning receipt or anything, despite sending emails. However I won't hassle Albert Talley as I know the enormous amount of effort and energy that goes into the organising of an event the size of this one.

I can't wait to get to the show. Very Happy

Every time I have booked online I have had an immediate electronic reply, the debiting has sometimes taken weeks to be carried out.
You will not actually recieve a pass by mail,Your name will be on the list and the lovely Ladies of the TSGA will issue the pass at the desk.
Ann and Myself will arrive Wed so be in commonwealth corner on Thurs for intros to all the UK,Aussies Kiwis and the Irish and maybe some U.S.citizens too.
Gregg,I guess You'll be totin them six shooters at the door again.

Hi Billy - yes my account has been debited and I will take my debit card account sheet with me if I don't hear anything. It was debited to CLEBURN TX. I'll try another email as I only want to know that I am on their list. I was going to wait until I arrived and pay in cash, but I was worried in case there is a ceiling on the numbers attending.

Allan
You are going back to the 70's when Eric used to use me as an agent for his steel guitars along with others. There seems to be a strong contingency of Scots going to Dallas. I'm trying to remember the guy who made the Springfield pedal steel from Scotland years ago. He used to come down to Hampshire at stay at the New Forest in his camper van with his family, and pop in to see me with his latest guitar. I hope he is still around.

No problem David, I'll have a Hilton in Dallas for you.
You may want to pay for it by pay pal now and save some money, before the price goes up any day now. See you there my friend. Very Happy

You are on the list. Several factors are involved in this information I/O bottleneck. One is that Albert is very computer illiterate, and his wife Debbie (secretary of TSGA) is overworked. Another is that I haven't been able to access the website due to computer problems here at home. They are being resolved this morning

Regarding the player list, I haven't received it from Albert yet. When I do, it will be posted ASAP.

Please bear in mind, folks, that unlike ISGC, the TSGA is a non-profit organization and all work done by the officers is TOTALLY UNPAID AND VOLUNTEER, as per the By-Laws. Maybe this should change, since the show has grown in size and complexity to the point where it's virtually a full-time job to organize. Albert truly does the vast lion's share of the work on this show totally unpaid, as do I and the rest of the staff (to a much lesser degree than AT and Debbie.)

So when you're doing work for free, sometimes getting complaints from people, though they may be justified and reasonable, can fall on very weary ears, if y'all know what I mean. So please be patient, and problems will get resolved eventually, if not on the schedule that our attendees would prefer.

I thank you in advance for your understanding and indulgence.

Thanks Herb - I do appreciate the feedback and the information. As I said previously, no way would I hassle Albert as the amount of organising an event like this takes is incredible. I have put one or two steel guitar shows (much much smaller) on in the UK many years ago, and I know how demanding on one's time it can be. To do it without the aid of a computer & web site must be darn near impossible.

This is my first Dallas Show, and I am very excited about going there for the first time.

Paddy Long, we will miss you this year. Im sure you are aware that the venue has changed to the Sheraton Grand just across the freeway, so we will have to case the joint out on Thursday, and find a new "Commonwealth Corner" will keep you posted

This time next month it will all be over. I need to make sure of taking plenty of camera cards with me so that I have some keepsakes of the show.

Looks as though there will be quite a few Jocks going. Smile
