He is going to teach her to work on Push/Pull guitars. She is going to teach him how to fly. I know this for a fact. |

Good luck to Bobbe. Anyone who can fly his plane across the pond and can hold an altitude of 5280 feet MSL already knows how to fly. Keep the dirty side down Bobbe and I hope you can get some jet time. |

Dan, It's not the Jet time, it's the "down time" I'm after!

P.S. Dan, she just pointed out to me that over the ocean, AGL and MSL are the same! I still play better than she does![This message was edited by BobbeSeymour on 06 January 2002 at 10:06 AM.] |

You didn't tell us she played pedal steel guitar !! I better not say anymore or I'll be in Deep Water......What with your preference for a certain Emmons guitar. I suppose the least I could imagine was that she plays a Sho-Bud...????

Bobbee, congratulations, wishing you both the best. A suggestion: Let Smiley catch the garter, that will make him next in line.

Myron! Your right, I didn't realize the "ex" was reading this forum. This is how she found out , but all is well, she and I are still good friends. I feel this speaks volumes about how nice Jeannie really is (or was). She made many good friends over the years that I'm sure she is now missing but she has gone on to a very sucessful medical career and is doing very well now. Life is a very strange thing,Mine has been the strangest,I envy the guys that have been married to the same woman for 50 years, but I think I'm a different kind of adventurest(weirdo). I have been very happily married in the past, but as I look back, I really don't know what I would really change. I do hope this is the last one though. There, Iv'e exposed some personal feelings, How 'bout you guys, How many years have you been married OR, how many times have you been married? Does anyone DARE to go here? This does pertain to this topic. Lets hear about it and how steel guitar has affected your personal lives. Or do you care to admit how steel has affected your personal life? |

Bobbe, I guess I can jump in here, cause I sure have no complaints- I met my first wife when she got up to sing with my band at the old Skyline Club in Columbia SC. We were friends for a couple of years before starting on a truly great 13 year marriage. Bless her golden heart, she died of Breast Cancer in '93, leaving me nothing but good memories. My current sweetie was dating the keyboardist in my last band, and when they broke up a little voice told me to "go to a phone!" You've met her and I bet you don't blame me! We've been married since June and I couldn't be happier. Two of the most wonderful gals ever- I was playing steel the first time I met them both so maybe I'll keep at it! Absolute best wishes to you and Sabrina!

Someone once told me:
"You ain't a steel player untill you've been thru at least 3 wife's."
I can understand this as some spouse's really don't have the same love of the instrument as the player's do.
I'm lucky.... mine (while she isn't a musician)does support me in my quest.
Bobbe..... Congrads in your marriage and keep the nose of the plane on a level keel. |

Well, I've been married twice. The road killed the first one after 13 yrs., and the second one could not stand being "second" to music and steels in particular. One day she threw my '71 Emmons down a flight of stairs, and that did it. I walked out and have been single ever since.
I like being single now. I have a PA set up in my house as well as several steel guitars and amps and six-strings - and my musician friends come and go as they please. When we are not playing gigs, we jam a lot. I'm seldom lonesome for company, plus I'm gone a lot myself so I'm about as happy as I've ever managed to be. |

Bobbe,
You asked how many times and how long........The first time lasted 17 years. She was running a bowling ally and gave my balls away. End of that story!
The second time around has been the best. Just passed 20 years and still going strong. The only things we don't see eye to eye on are rodeo, flying and how many dogs we have. Not bad, as things go.
Hope this one sticks for you and Sabrina.

Bobbe I'm on my third and Final connection. My First secumbed to an Automobile accident. My second at 46 had Cancer. My third who I hope out lives me is 10 years younger so she has a good start. Now that doesn't include all affairs and sidetracts that musicians are rumored to have. If all fails I'm going to make a pass at Smiley.

Guys,
Remember, marriage is give and take, you give, and they take. I finally figured out why they close their eyes when they are doin it.....They can't stand to see a guy having a good time! |

Hey Bobbe, Congradulations! I'm on my fourth. I always seemed to end up with bar flies. Bad idea! I ended up with some MEAN women. I called marraige an occupational hazzard, (for a musician) for a long time. Now I think I just made bad choices in my life. I'm married to a very sweet and beautiful woman who is also very intelligent. Keeping Jesus in our lives helps a lot also. Best of wishes to you both and God Bless! Ziggie |

Bobbe - I heard you were in the hospital recently - waiting for your next wife to be born Seriously, kudos to you and your new bride. Now I'm not suggesting she's younger than you...but I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that if you give her a sex manual on your wedding night, she'll color it! Best, Boomer |
