Another tune you might like

Post by Dick Wood »

The rhythm track is one I downloaded from another Forum members previous post. I liked the melody so I thought I'd see what I could add in the way of steel.

I'm not sure exactly what happened when I burned the final track because the steel intro kinda just pops in all of a sudden which wasn't how it sounded while I was recording it.

It gave me something to do while I was off today so I hope you like it.

That's very pretty, good tone and well played.

Fabulous playing Dick. I love the sound your getting...I have recording software called Guitar Tracks Pro with 32 tracks on it but I have not succeeded in getting no where near the tone that sounds good, of course I'm not a pro...the only device I use is just a Boss RV5 reverb unit but like I say...you have a great sounding tone and your playing is great.

Howard and John,

Thank you very much for the nice words.

The more I listen to it the more I realize how I was playing behind the curve on that tune.

I can hear how I was listening to the track and then coming up with a lick so I'm hearing a slight lag in the timing.

I may redo it and repost a cleaned up version.

Dick, very nice job; love the tone, smooth too...did I hear a little Lloyd Green influence there? 8)
Personally I like the "behind the curve" phrasing, as you call it. You know, a number of years ago, it was quite correct for singers to "sing behind the beat" a lot, and for awhile almost everything out of Nashville was that way. Well, I ramble; love your music. ........ 8)

Hi Stan,

I do like Lloyd's playing very much because he has a way of resolving chords so they don't have that "blocky" sound.

Maybe I'll get a chance to work on that tune tonight and repost it soon.

Thanks for the compliments.

Dick, Likewise. Not to mention a mystery lick or two. Have you mentioned what steel you play? Sounds real good.

Thank you guys,

Chris, I've been playing a Williams D10 8x5 with BL710's for almost two years and normally use a Hilton but on this I used an old Ernie Ball Pot Pedal direct to the board.
