Anybody regularly use several bars for several playing situations? Until recently, I have played a great deal of single string. And I loved my big, heavy Broz-O-phonic bar. But recently I have begun doing more double and triple stops, including reverse slants. And for that I prefer the Jerry Byrd bar. So I've been switching back on forth. How about a square nosed bar for playing down by the nut (alot of pull off's, etc.)?

Yep, I've always got several bars at hand. My favorite steel bar is a modified Broz-O-Phonic that I shortened and lightened. It weighs 4.9 oz. and is 2 7/8" long whereas the original is 5.5 oz. and is 3" long.

Recently though, I've been mostly using the white Manoloff TriboTone weighing 3.3 oz. and when I've felt the need for a heavier bar have gone to the 5.1 oz. Red Rajah.

Jude,

Looks like the "Raj" that I sent you worked out, cool! Seems like it was you that traded me a black one a little smaller for it. I like that black one a lot.

Back to Edwards question for pedal steel I always use a John Pearse Cryo. On the MSA 8 string I use an old short Sho~Bud bar and some times a "Black Rajah".

The big fella on the right is the one you sent me John. That's my Billy Robinson model. Smile
