I have a strange copedent in my Derby D-10. RKL lowers 5&10 a whole and LKV lowers 6th string a whole step. Otherwise it´s a standard Emmons. Because I don´t have a right G lever, I´d like to know from you, guys, where do you have yours. So I´d like to get 1&2 string a whole up and maybe 6&10 a whole down.

Do you know any sites which would have instructions to this project? Thanks.

It seems your guitar has the Franklin change on LKL+LKV. Thus, you might investigate the rest of his setup, as I did, along with a host of others listed on b0b's copedant page:
http://b0b.com/tunings/index.html
You could add the 10th lower to LKV.

Yeah, it is Franklin setup. Thanks. To which lever can I add 1,2 and 7 string raises, to RKL or LKV?

Maybe some more experienced players can chime in.

What do you have on RKR and RKL?

Charlie, RKR has 2nd & 9th half down, and RKL 5th & 10th a whole down.

So then one can assume that you have E raises and lowers (F & D#) on the left knees? And that you're wanting a F#->G raise. (Sorry, I misread your original post.)
I would be inclined to put the 7th str. raise to the vertical lever, but you would lose the Franklin change. It depends on if you like having that change, which depends on the kind of music you play to an extent.

I like the location of str. 1 & 2 raises at Franklin's location, RKR, but that's just what makes sense to me.

I have tried out many changes on my MSA, more than some people would like to fool with. But it seems to me trying them out is the only way to do it.

But I also looked at a lot of copedents and borrowed from them. Consider that you can't have everything--but then again, if you don't want a Bb lever (often seen on RKL) that frees up one lever for a G lever.
I would look at copedents that have a raise or lower to G and see how they fit that in, like Lloyd Green, who has a very economical setup.

But it appears that you will have to make a choice between 5&10 and 6&10 whole step lowers. And I'm not sure what you have in mind musically with that choice, only you could decide.
Keep pursuing it.... and Happy New Year.

Thanks for your answers, Charlie. Really appreciate them. Maybe I´ll try to make 1st and 2nd string changes with RKL and keep 5 and 10 lowers in it. Is there a limit how many changes can be made with one knee lever? Everyone can answer Smile

Happy New Year to you also, Charlie.
