Do any of you guys have this on CD? It seems to be out of print again. I would love to get ahold of a "burned" copy of the Cd with the promise that when it becomes available again, I will buy a copy myself. I used to hear a few of the songs off of that record on a radio station called KFAT in the Bay Area of CA.
E-mail me if you have this and we'll work out a trade.

The Fraternity of Man was the brainchild of Elliot Ingber, who was an early member of the Mothers (of Invention). He's the short-haired guy of the cover of "Freak Out" (the Mothers' first album), since he'd just gotten out of the Army in 1966.
Hollywood was great in those days... late 60's..., lemme tell ya.  I went to high school with his younger brother, Ira Ingber. Ira's had a good career in music as well.

both paul franklin and tommy white were better at 13yrs old than most of us will ever be....
however, i may be wrong about the song...maybe it was 'one toke over the line, sweet jesus...' that i was thinking of...(brewer and shipley (?).. ) |

Chris, are you thinking of "It's So Nice To Be With You" by Gallery? If so, as far as I know Paul did play on that at around the age of 15.
Back to my question, anyone got a copy of Fraternity of Man I can have?

Yeah, good luck with that. Been after a decent copy for like a dozen years. Got one unplayable one, nice cover though.
Edsel reissued it on CD many moons ago, by the time I found out they deleted it. Not a big seller.
Earl Ball, who is a Texas buddy of Herb, was in Red's band the Detours at the time and also played some piano on the same album.
Most definately a west coast record, and for my two cents, L.A. bands killed the San Fran acts. |

If anyone has a decent LP version, I can do the vinyl transfer. I have the Waves Restoration bundle of Plug Ins for ProTools and it is amazing. It will remove pops, clicks, and noise from old records without messing with the tone. If someone can pony up a copy, I will pay shipping both ways for the record, and give you a burned Cd of the album.
