Second time i've played my new guitar the day it arrived

Post by Wayne Franco »

This Zum Played perfectly as did the first one. Because its a Hybred, I read the manual and tuned it up at home. Easy. On the C neck the 8th string has one change from A to B (whole Step) you need to remember to tune with the pedal down as in all the largest changes, then remember to tune with the nylon nut my knee lever that changes A to A# on the 8th string. The stops feel extreamly solid and it stayed in tune all night. Likewise the sound was so solid with great overtone. I seem to feel more in my hands. I have to say it sounds as good as it looks. My standard changer guitar is going to stay set up in my music room for a while. I'll bet the Hybred will cut real good through a big noisy band. OH how sweet it is.

Hi guys
This is my second instrument, my main road guitar, an Emmons SKH D10, 8+6, was shown earlier. This is a seventies ProIII that I've just finished refurbing to an SD10. 4+5 set up. The pad has a section between the necks to put picks, bar etc. I made the pad as I wanted it to be just the right height. and I've used the spare parts from the C6 neck to replace any worn pot metal parts on the 9th neck and have extra pulls on the ninth. I've still to make a new case for it as the original case is virtually destroyed. It's done its job though, as it's kept this old girl in decent condition.

John, please define "imperviuos." Aside from that, it's a beautiful guitar...

:D :D Chas.; Wow, What a handful of excellent guitars; I've been around for 72 years and have never had the privelege of seeing a Bigsby Steel, in person.Bobbe really admires these babies; Did you buy the single neck one from Maurice, directly? I love your ten string GIBSON; The only older guitar I own is a 1953 Harlin Bros. Multi-Kord which I purchased new in 53. In fact, I believe I have a picture of it some-where; will find it and show to you forumites.Bernie  :whoa: :D

im-per-vi-ous: adj, not allowing fluid to pass through.

So, if someone spills their beer on it, it'll puddle up nicely on it.

Last, Marrs/MCI parts, and some I made myself,

I play the Fessenden the most, the Magnum and BMI are good when I want something lighter.

Skip; This guitar has a purple heart top, humbucking pickups, and a wonderful tone. I also didn't mention that it was rebuilt and refinished by Mike Cass this past winter. That was after this picture was taken. It wasn't bad but had some bar dings and scratches. Mike did a wonderful job on it. Thanks for the comment. Larry
