Like the Lilly of the Valley engraving pattern of the 20s Nationals, future resophonic scholars will likely refer to this engraving pattern as a "Style 4, bimbo pattern" or perhaps the "Hey, Honey - lookin' for a date?" pattern.

If you like highly engraved jewel encrusted resonators, there's a National Resophonic Tricone that was made about a decade ago called "Jewel of the Nile". It's been in the hands of several dealers, and last seen was on "Rudy's" list. It's a sight to behold.

Here's my 1930 National Style 3 "Lily of the Valley"

Sometimes "decorations" go to far.

But to be fair, all the old National "decorations" out of context are really tacky too. Those flower decals on the Triolians - would anyone want wallpaper like that? And how about a Lily of the Valley embroidered suit?

But, there is some magic mojo factor that makes the engraved Tricones really cool (and I love the Style 3 "Lily..." - the roses of styles 2 and 4 smell a bit like vulgar perfume to me

). The Tricone was such a modernistic design, and then engraved like Victorian dinner silver. A quite crazy mixture, but it works, or are we all blinded by that shiny German silver?
