i have listened to the Latino group Mazz from Brownsville, Texas for over 25 years now and have never heard of Jimmy or Joe using a steel player on any of their recordings , i have a good idea of who it might be , but i am not positive . by the way , it is some great steel playing ... the title of the tune on the De Colleccion CD , track 20 is ... Tonite ... the CD does not list any credits ... Keith |

actually , Mazz is a Tejano group , based out of Texas , that plays Latin music mixed with dominant synth , which is their trademark sound . |

Is it a recent recording? I think Tommy Roots, who lived in Corpus Christi, recorded with some of the Tejano groups here in South Texas. |

Lee , the label is Sony and released in 1994 , this is a collection of Mazz's tunes ,the song could have been recorded years before that . i knew Tommy and played a few gigs with him back in the 80's in Corpus Cristi , it does not sound like Tommy's playing , but it sure could be , he was a great Steeler .. thanks for the reply ...
