Jeff, that steel really does sound good.
I bought a DVD of conways greatest hits and this is my favourite track but even on the disc the first few notes of the intro are missing even so I just keep skipping back and watching it over and over for an hour or so.
the Price of the DVD was worth it for this one track !

Big Joe must be the bass player, he dwarfs Conway. Are any of these guys still with us Gene?

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro.

They are all gone.
John of course died recently, Joe died in an automobile accident, Chops died from complications of diabetes, Ronnie from cancer, and Conway from an abdominal aneurism.
Same group in 1965 with a different guitar and steel player.....this guitar player is also dead.
