I recently traded into a Marshall Lead 12 combo, a fairly cheap solid state amp that, by it's appearance, would seem to be a practice amp. It has a 10" speaker that is fairly tinny and overly bright in it. I swapped the stock Celestion for an Eminence Patriot Delta Demon 10" speaker and WOW what a difference! The amp is quite loud, the tone is a lot more balanced with a smoother low end and no "transistor radio" comparison. I like this a lot, it may even go to a recording session as another tool to get overdriven tones. Total investment, $30 for the speaker. COOL!
