Well I know Jimmy Loessberg did. I helped him load in to the Colorado City Opry Shady Mitchell was hosting. One heck of a night I might add and Hank expressed his feelings about Jimmy; "One of the best I've ever had." Good enough for this old clam. BTW the bass player was none other than Mr. Curtis Potter. How 'bout them apples.?

I had the pleasure of playing steel for Hank on some shows in Iowa back in the 80's. A great guy and singer. |

I saw Hank in Spokane, Wa at the Eagles club in the mid 70's and Frank Arnett was playing with him using a MSA double neck I believe. Was my first exposure to a phase shifter in his mix on the steel guitar. |

I think Gary Hogue and Junior Knight did some time with Hank as well..maybe Junior can weigh in on that. I did a job with him in the mid 80's myself. |

I was asked to play for Hank several years ago and was already booked. I'm sorry I never got to do it. _________________ Steve Stallings

I had the great pleasure of playing twin steels along with Bob White on Hank's 1000 and one-nighters album in the early '80's. I also was fortunate enough to do several shows with him as well. What a Gentleman!! |

Hey JUSSI!
Many thanks for naming "DUSTY STEWART".........
I have a snapshot of he and I at the olde Division Street Corral, visited many times by Hank Thompson and his great bands. I never knew who he was as he only signed his autograph as "Dusty".
Hank used to send the band ahead in the bus....and then he'd fly in, in his musically decorated PIPER APACHE twin engine airplane. Ah, those were the days. |

Clyde Graham played no pedal steel for him in south Texas in the late 40's, before Lefty.. Clyde's brother played bass for Dean Beard and other Texans before hitting the west coast to work with Roger Miller and Glen Campbell. |
