Steel Guitar Players Web Site Updated
I have had some recent inquiries as how to place a song on ETSGA web site. Here are the rules:
1. The song must be steel guitar with no singing.
2. If the song submitted is by someone other than yourself, permission from that person must be received. This is not a You Tube site.
3. Send the songs MP3 if possible. Other formats, but not all, may be accepted.
4. Only one song at a time. That song can be changed once every 25 days.
5. Be aware that any song published is subject to listener downloading.
6. Talent level is not a factor to submit a song.
Should you have other questions, email me at ttexastilley@sbcglobal.net

Richard, I sure hate to do that but I will if you wish. Before I did the 3 day conversion from MP3 to Mpeg, I had about 6 people give me their opinion of wheather the sound quality had been altered and all said no.
If you would like (instead of removing the song) I can change it back to Mp3. What I was doing is to give the dial-up users a chance to hear the songs also. Changing back to Mp3 will not prevent that but it will take them about 20 minutes to downlaod the song (so I have been told).
If there are other players that feel my conversion has taken away some quality, please let me know. I have no intention of doing that to anyone.
Please advise on this suggestion.

Charles Tilley sent me some of his songs in MPEG and took a minute to download, when before it took up to 30 minutes the old way. I couldn't hear any appreciable difference in the sound.
Tilley did a lot of work with his program converting all those MP3's to MPEG, and we all benefit as NOW , us poor guys on dial up can hear a lot of the songs on Tilley's site instead of just a few we have time for.
I might even be able to hear them all now with the new MPEG technology, thanks to Tilley....al.

Al Tilley site
Al, Thanks so much for all your efforts. It is great that we have the access to listen to and download all the various friends that we visit on the Forum. All your time and dedication is appreciated and hopefully will be rewarded.

Enough to make it worthwhile
I want all you guys and gals to know that the nice things you are saying about me and my site is ample payment for time spent doing it. You know, I enjoy listening to every one of you. Yes, I know some are better than others but I enjoy them all.
I have just today reformatted the player list. I hope all of you like the change. I will keep converting mp3 files to mpeg and publish them along with the mp3 file so that you dial-up folks can listen to. Read the note above the player list.
Feel free to keep your songs updated monthly should you want to.
NOTE: the mpeg files are much smaller than mp3 so dial-up users can downlaod songs in about 1 minute or 2 instead of 20 minutes per song.
