NO Jerry Byrd on YouTube!

Post by J D Sauser »

It is amazing what and whom all you can find on YouTube... and that's good... except the most widely known steel guitarist of 'em all - Jerry Byrd - is no where to be seen. :(
If some of you have material, please post and let us know. There are many of my generation and younger who never have had the privilege of seeing him.

Thanks! ... J-D.

I'll soon put that right, albeit with him on a dobro and backing Marty Robbins.

I've never seen Jerry Byrd on the dobro-that was outstanding!

What clean technique. Those hands were poetry in motion!

Basil ,many thanks for posting these vids I have never seen Jerry byrd play, only heard him on audio, doesn't he just glide with such ease. You can see from these few videos why he was called " master of touch and tone"
I have his LP on vinyl "Byrd in hawaii" ....its all but worn out i must find out if its available on CD.
Does anyone have some video of him playing lap steel /pedal steel ?
