One use for the C6th neck can be heard on the 3rd part of this song (it can be used to play simple full sounding melodies in addition to being an armrest). Another in a series of common tunes where both necks are used to play the basic melody. The C6th neck can get you a fuller sound and allow you to stretch out an instrumental version by giving it the two neck treatment. I am working on the 1st verse C6 tab and a rhythm track to be posted in the tab section soon. The C to C# change on the C6 3rd string really extends the range of the tuning for simple melody playing and also produces a fat sounding augmented chord when used with pedal 6 (to be tabbed out also).

To my mind the C6 parts sounded better than the E9.
Another good sound is to have two pedal steels, one playing the melody on C6 and the other backing it on E9. |

Guys,
if you don't check in with Greg's site, you are selling yourself self short. Greg's site is full of great tablature work that is worth learning. If Greg wanted to he could be making a mint off of selling this tab work yet he chooses to offer them "FREE" of charge.
Greg has put a lot of time in helping promote players and help teach them new licks.

Thanks everyone! I hope to spark more interest in the C6th tuning by showing the most common pedals and grips in a bunch of different but familiar songs. I find that playing C6 stuff adds to the dexterity of your fingers when you switch back to E9th. Maybe the wider grips just make the E9th grips seem much easier but it provides more variety in your practice routine.
Many thanks to all those who pointed out the C to C# change a few months back. It has made the tuning a lot more fun to play and simplified a lot of the song flows.
