My Magnatone is about 27 inches. I routinely travel on the airlines with it in a mini guitar gig bag.
Never had any problems except sometimes it confuses the min wage TSA x-ray operator.
Find an old magnatone because they are still reasonably cheap and usually sound great. I picked mine up for 90 bucks because it needed new tuners. |

Check back with Am Trak. I'm used to a limit of 36". I ride the San Joaquin a couple of times a year. I have carried my Chandler RH2 in case. I have carried both Superior and Gold Tone Weisses in case. No questions asked. _________________ Amor vincit omnia |

The Artisans are quite short and can be picked up for less than $100.00 |

I don't remember the brand, but there was a 50's single neck with a key-less tuner system and if my memory serves me well, it even had a bridge with where the tuning could be changed. It was all perloid covered. Arguably ugly guitar.
I've seen them for sale on e-bay sometimes.
