Couldn't make it to the ISGC but Tommy White is one of the main reasons I will be at the NTSGA Super Jam!
I think it's time for "An Evening of C6th"!Tommy White & Buddy Emmons! That would be sweet! :D

The last time he was at convention, I swore that I
would go home and place my steel upside down in the
yard to plant flowers in it. The vines could run up the legs and pedal rods.

One of my ALL TIME favorites and he is so tasteful
and complimentary in what he plays.

When I owned his E9 video P/P, I felt i had a bit of Tommy in our home. yeah, I miss him in that Emmons but mostly the good old days on TNN Music City Tonight. What a venue that was.
Now, Pete Freiberger has Tommy's axe in his Southern California home where he can boogie over to Jay Dee's most anytime.

I think Tommy is without question, one of the greatest and most innovative players of all time. Unfortunately, we've only heard a very small portion of what his is capable of, and I hope the time comes soon when we will be hearing much more of him on national recordings.

Tommy is, IMHO, one of the bright lights that illuminate the steel guitar world. He's got the chops fer sure, but a lot of guys have chops. What TW has is beautiful, original note choice, and phrasing and soul that uniquely speaks to me, so he's one of my all-time favorites.

Other guys may hold that special position for some of y'all, but TW is one of the few that really sings my song. :)
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Tim Harr,
Thank you so much. How humbling. I graciously accept and so appreciate this thread.
Herb,
Your compliment is the most generous and nicest I've ever received. I take it deep to heart, especially from a gentleman and player such as yourself.
Danny,
Thank you. Even though I'm not heard on radio marketed recordings often, I feel blessed and most fortunate to have had the opportunity to showcase steel guitar through other equally important venues. You may view some of my recording credits on All Music Guide or Artistdirect. I'm doin' alright,as I've been appearing on national television since 1977.The other media.
Bobby Caldwell,
I miss you and your talent. You've helped me out and put me at ease on the shows in St. Louis since the beginning, some 37 years ago, when I was 11 years old. I won't ever forget it.
Again, my sincerest thanks to everyone for your replies and being so kind.
