Introducing SteelGuitarJazz.com
Just for fun, I have been assembling a new website dedicated to jazz on steel guitar. I'm only a few days into building it, and have so far added some photos and sound clips of various jazz-oriented steel players (more to come!), and a bit of news (also more to come). Please come on by for a visit, please do sign the guestbook, and let me know if you have any comments or suggestions for the website. Thanks and enjoy www.SteelGuitarJazz.com

Super site, Jim. It will be a favorite for many players. I especially liked the song samples because I'm not familiar with some of the players. I've seen their names but not heard them.Thank you Jim for taking the time to make this all happen. Larry

This is a great start Jim, the more we can do to push the pedal steel into different genre's of music, the better it will be for all of us pickers.

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro.

Wow, what a cool site. Thanks Jim!
May I suggest clips from David Wright (Secret Love would be nice if he has a clip to offer), and anything from Buzz Evans.
Keep up the great work, and thanks again!

Thanks for all the encouragement, and for visiting the website and signing the guestbook. I'm glad to see there's a good bit of interest in this subject. My challenge will be to keep it fresh and interesting with new stuff periodically to make it worth your while coming back for another visit. Toward that end, I'm thinking of posting some interviews with jazz-oriented steelers, announcements of new CDs, etc. Let me know what else you'd like to see!
Meanwhile, I've added more pics and sound clips this evening for:
David Wright
Buzz Evans
Al Vescovo
... with more to come!
p.s. In case you're wondering, there's no particular order to the pics and sound clips; just trying to mix it up a bit. (Well, that's a bit of a lie: I did put the hall-of-famers' pictures at the top; they deserve it)

...and this is a bit off topic, but in order to promote your jazz page and your work, YOU NEED A MYSPACE PAGE, Jim Cohen.
It's surprising to me that you don't have one because you're a hip and relatively "young" guy in the steel world! (mine are: http://myspace.com/dirkburhans and: http://myspace.com/baitshopboys )
