This Strobo-Clip is so great for pedal steel guitar, you guys gotta try one...man it really should have a sweetened tuning for pedal steel though it's got a bunch of others but none for pedal steel, bit of a downer that :( Still, fantastic unit and perfect for the pedal steel I think especially if i...

Benjamin, are you sure it doesn't have sweetened settings for pedal steel? Their web site list Steel guitar as one of the instruments it has sweetened tunings for. https://www.petersontuners.com/products/stroboclip/ I'd like to check one out. One thing it doesn't seem to have an way to use AC power...

Not sure how old this thread is but I just bought a Strobo-Clip and it's a fantastic tuner...I play E9 pedal steel and have a Rittenberry and it works a charm so far, but I haven't tested it live, however it seems to work great on many locations around the steel cabinet, is quick, tunes just as well...

(this is the same post as in my other thread but similar topics so I'll copy and paste it here too) Well I just got my new Peterson Stroboclip home and clipped it on my Pedal Steel (a Rittenberry S10) and it works like a charm. Compared it to my iPhone Peterson strobe tuner app and it was dead on ex...

Well I just got my new Peterson Stroboclip home and clipped it on my Pedal Steel (a Rittenberry S10) and it works like a charm. Compared it to my iPhone Peterson strobe tuner app and it was dead on exactly the same as that. Seemed to work great clipped onto the cabinet rather than the peghead, worke...

I think the only clip-on tuner I'd get would be a Peterson, I'll spend the extra money for something I know is going to be far more accurate and probably more sensitive, especially since it needs to detect the notes via sensitivity...hmm I might actually buy one today and try it out, I'm definitely ...

Slightly scratchy volume pedal...Goodrich H10K model...?
So I've got one of the Goodrich H10K active volume pedals and it's fantastic, just noticed a very slight scratchy noise though that I'm assuming is the volume pedal since it happens with the travel of the pedal, just wondering if people think this is definitely the pot or if a flat battery could be ...

Great to hear people thanks so much for the feedback, I don't see any reason why one wouldn't work clipped onto the cabinet or somewhere, and since we all play with a volume pedal as standard that just means that you don't have to add anything into the signal chain and you just kill the volume with ...

Clip-on tuner with pedal steels...anyone use one?
Just curious if anyone has tried using a clip-on tuner with a pedal steel and if it worked? They usually clip on to the headstock on regular guitars but I thought maybe the vibrations (or whatever they use to tune) could be detected if you clipped on a tuner to the pedal steel cabinet itself. Has an...

Old thread, but god I love this video, I must have watched it a hundred times and every time it makes me smile that so much talent and so much class can be in one room together and someone got it on tape. They obviously look like they're having fun, maybe making fun of themselves and the whole situa...

So I'm wondering if anyone can say definitively what kind of strings the ever popular Cobra Coils were so if I (or any of you other slingers) want to get something as similar as possible we know what we're looking for. I'm happy to buy other brands, I just was under the impression the Cobra Coils we...

Best alternative to Cobra Coils...Curt Mangan perhaps?
I've been using Cobra Coils a bit now but I can't seem to get in touch with Steel Guitar Nashville online to order any more and I need some so I was thinking about getting something else off JustStrings...and I've read a bunch of positive stuff about the Curt Mangan strings. Just wondering if they a...

A very unexpected FANTASTIC low volume practice amp...SPIRIT
Anyone heard of a Matamp Spirit? It's a little 5 watt all valve tweed vintage champ clone...well, close to a clone anyway. Single 6V6 for power stage, ECC83 for pre, a single Jensen 8" speaker, and only a tone and a volume knob. It even has it's own attenuator...surprisingly 5 watts can get blo...

That is what I needed thank you, and yes I've been using steelguitar.com to learn all about my steel lately but it didn't have this little nugget anywhere. I figure it would be a useful addition to the website, unless it's somewhere I haven't found yet. I figured it worked something like that, altho...

Ahh I did not know about this, I just tried to tweak the one on the low D and I don't have the correct Allen key...something else I noticed though is that there is another grub screw but its not on the high D#, it's on a string which doesn't lower at all, is that right or are these grub screws what ...

Problem setting up my double stop pedal (RKR)...
Okay I've got a Rittenberry S10 setup for E9, and I think as of late I understand how more of the bits underneath work and get set up (especially after one of the bell cranks actually came loose and fell off at last night's gig when setting up)...well I put that bell crank back on and went over the ...

Do most stage players use a Strobo Flip? How do you attach?
Just wanting to get a tuner for my steel, one that will be easy enough to use while on stage so I don't have to be looking across at my guitar board. I'm a bit late to the party here but you mentioned having a Tweed Twin in your first post...that's one of the amps I was looking at for my PSG and I would have loved to get one because I play some normal guitar too and this would definitely have been high enough powered to cope with the PSG I think....
