Coming to Nashville/NY around Halloween...what gigs?

I thought what better place to ask than here but my wife and I are coming to NY and then Nashville from 21st October till 7th November, and the last few days of that might be in Nashville and I thought I'd ask what and where to go for great gigs.

Any and all advice appreciated, we just want to see some killer country shows while we're there...and any other great gigs really.
