Mike Cass is your best bet as he is close --- he did 3 of mine while I hung around Nashville -- worked all night long for a respectable price -- just cleaning and adjustments.

I just do the organ part with an organ patch -- take the organ solo too --- that is if there's not a keyboard on stage.

Thanks for your replies on this subject -- the reason was mainly for vocal purposes - by the way the singer already has a fine bass voice - but also for the 6 string guitar resonance that I believe is enhanced by less tension on the strings.

Tuning E9 down 1/2 step -- any potential problems?

I have a Marrs E9 that I want to drop to Eb9 due to my guitarists request. I want to continue to use the Sid Hudson sweetened tuning. I use the Cobra Coils Custom string set. Does anyone have experience with this and are there any potential problems or adjustments.

Doug Jernigan is one of my favorite players -- saw him early on in my steel journey and he continues to be the best. Nicest guy you will ever meet.

Does anyone do just a duo?

Those of you that play in a loud band can know how flusterating it can be to be heard and find your own voice. The cacophany of sound can be distracting and overwhelming as you're trying to fit in. How many of you have tried simple duo style playing -- just guitar and steel? To me it has been libera...

Sacred Steel

Hi Charlie --- I have a friend in North Charleston that is a sacred steel player. He is a member here (Makevia Johnson) - may be wife's name. Look under Dec 15, 2013 posting in Amps and accessories for Walker Stereo Steel. Lance Johnson's number is listed there. If you can't locate it - call me. He ...

The guitar in case is 62 pounds -- the case is much larger than Emmons cases -- it also has a separate compartment for a volume pedal so it is longer also.
Have a buyer -- waiting on payment... if you want a steel to fly with you need a newer steel -- Sho-Buds should be called Pedal IRON Guitars.....

Mike Cass said it wasn't an SKH ... I don't know exactly how to tell .. I suppose Emmons guitars were also put together with different configurations even with close serial numbers. Does anyone know if the actual body is also shorter?

Ldg

The answer is NO -- it hasn't been adjusted lately - I personally don't think it needs adjustment -- plays fine to me -- everyone has their own feel -- It hasn't had a lot of wear since I got it --- I mostly play Emmons.

Handle needed for pedal steel road case

Looking for a replacement handle for a road case. Double neck push/pull is heavy.... so sturdy - comfortable grip is needed. Machine screws are 5 5/8" on center.
If anyone has a source - new or used - please reply.
Thanks
Don
