Just wanted to post on the forum that my new CD/DVD is available for purchase at http://www.martinfamilycircus.com/site/ . It will also be available at the Marty Stuart store in a few days too, and I will have it on iTunes shortly. I want to warn you that it is extremely traditional country music th...

Hey Jack, Marty is playing thru a stock Deluxe from the early 70's. we were on the west coast a few years back and had to rent from SIR in Hollywood. He found that Deluxe and it just felt "right". He got SIR to sell him that amp. The trick is that is was just well maintained with stock par...

Gary Carter

Working in the studio today with Gary reminded me I have not been on the forum in quite awhile. You might already know this, but Gary has released a solo CD, if not you need to pick up one. I know I'm biased, but it's great CD! Seems like a pretty exciting time for steel right at this very moment wi...

Marty champions everybody he works with. He does it with The Superlatives, Leroy, Eddie, and Gary. He has been one of the biggest influences on all 4 of my kids, and he treats every guest on the show as if they are in the Country Music Hall of Fame, whether they are or not. I am extremely thankful t...

Everything is live, but sometimes the video is off a few frames. So that gives the illusion that we aren't playing it live, but trust me it is.

Herb Remington

Marty and the guys were talking about Mr. Remington today on our bus, and everyone was interested in knowing how he is doing. We saw some video of him on a Deke Dickerson show from about 3 or 4 years ago, and he was just AMAZING!!

Six Days On The Road Question

Does anybody know who else was on the recording (Six Days On The Road)? We know Jimmy Colvard played guitar, and the studio was in Minneapolis. Bruce Swedien built it in 1955 and sold it to Vernon Bank in '57. Would love to know who played bass, drums, and any additonal stuff on the track. Marty and...

The fuzzed out area was due to the fact that I forgot to bring shoes I could play in. I have never been able to play steel in boots, so I had my wife run down a pair of comfortable shoes to the studio. Well I forgot to ask her to bring some black dress socks, and I had on white athletic socks that d...

Marty got Gary to try the Hot Rod Deluxe to kind of approximate that "Mooney" tone. Gary really likes the amp, but he uses a Peavey too. Doesn't matter what he plays through, he still gets a great tone as far as I'm concerned HAHA!! He is going with us in a couple of weeks to Canada. we wi...

Thanks Dennis for the kind words. I have gotten a bunch of nice feedback on my facebook page all week about our "Unseen Hand" performance, and it don't go unnoticed. One thing I can say is Keith Urban is a great talent. He is a wonderful player and singer, and he really is a good guy too. ...

I gotta say that whenever I listen to the original track of "Rose Garden", it still gives me chills. I asked Lynn if it was true about the day they cut the song here in town where many session players showed up over at the Quonset hut just to listen to the that track, and she said that was...

Marty Stuart Show January 29th

Charlie Louvin is the guest on this weekend's Marty Stuart Show. We are in the UK on tour, and were saddened by the news of Charlie's passing. What's weird is his episode with us was already slated for Saturday Jan. 29. This is his last TV appearance, and he really was a "trouper" that day...

Hey Winston, I do remember that gig. I was playing with a dear friend who was the sheriff of my home town, and we were opening for the Kendalls. The reason of my memory, was I met Brian Franklin that day and we have been great friends to this day. I was embarrassed to be playing steel when I found o...
