I am looking forward to this great show again as I had to miss last year and that is the only one I have ever missed. I must say that Al has one of the best lineups of players I have seen in quite awhile, so don't miss this one. I hope to see many of you there.

I also missed last year's event. I'm planning on being there this year, but you know how golfers are when those late Fall days begin to slip away.

Herby, I'm still planning on being there for you. I'm still holding down the wheelchair for now, but that shouldn't bother my lead playing. Do you have time slots slated yet? I'm looking forward to such and incredbile line up! "It's like Christmas come early"

David, it's nice to hear from you and glad you are doing better. I am set to play at 8:45 on Friday night and 3:30 Saturday afternoon. I haven't heard from Rick or Danny, so I hope they can make it too.

See you there,

Just some odds and ends Gary. Like to browse through their displays. Don't really have an order to put in.

As to the player lineup, I know nothing more than what is listed here.

Lexington Show

Post by DeWitt Scott »

I am looking forward to being in Lexington for the Steel Guitar Classic Show and this being their 25th Anniversary it should be a good show. The line up of players is really great! Somehow I get to start the show off every year at 7:00pm. I will have some new tunes to play for you. I play again on Saturday at 11:15am and you all know that I leave for St. Louis shortly after that. Just to much work to do when I get home. See you there...Scotty

I cant believe it! I got on the forum hoping to see something going on in KY because I know no other steel players and theres a show in my town!! I am ecstatic! Perhaps I may seem a bit too enthusiastic but i have loved the sound of the steel for several years and only just got a lap in June. I have only met one steel player in the last ten years and cant wait till Nov 5th. Thanks guys, youve just made my night!

They're all over the place in your area Eric. The Central Ky club hosts this big event in November plus 3 smaller regional events south of town out there in the big Brannon Crossing shopping center on Nicholasville Road.

Get to know some of the guys. They will be willing to share info with you.

I may or may not make this show, but if I do I'll look you up and say "Hey". I believe Kayton is playing this show. What a treat. Maybe he'll stop talking long enough to play a few. Just kidding... he's a great orator, likes to share stories, and an even greater musician with impeccable execution and tone.

Lap steel legend Billy Robinson is scheduled to perform also. Prepare to be bowled over by his slants and choke pulls.

Hey everyone, this will be my first steel show. Can I buy tickets at the door or do I buy them online somewhere. I live in Lexington so booking a room is not a concern. Thanks, looking forward to it!

I wish I could come up. Marty and the Superlatives will be at the Opry tomorrow nite, then over to Shelby NC. Saturday nite. The folks that put this one on are family! Good luck Al and Uncle Ed!! I see a bunch of my favorites are playing. I am honored to call many of them friends too.

I'm looking at some pictures from the shows. I'm getting them on my cell phone from one of the attendees.

Most I don't know but I did recognize Ron Elliott and Scotty.

Sorry for the "No Show"

Post by David Graves »

I hope everyone had a great time. I want to apologize to my good friends Herby Wallace and Denny Barns because I couldn't make the show as originally planned. I've been in a cast from my hip to my toes for a shattered femur for about 7 weeks. Well, they removed the cast Thursday and I'm just not strong enough to do it yet. I started to make the trip but about 20 miles from home I was on the verge of passing out from the pain.. so I returned home. I wanted to be there for such and incredible talent line up and especially to get to play lead for my idol, Herby Wallace, but it wasn't meant to be. I promise to make it next year. If anyone has any pictures or video of any of the acts, I sure would love to see them. Again, I apologize for being a no show at the last minute, but it was just out of my hands. I'm sure the entire weekend was second to none and I look forward to next years show already.
