After using several brands I found the best solution for my fingers are PROPIK metal. (BRASS version for pedal steel)while as thumb I prefear the plastic GOLDENGATE for all instruments. (I'm shortening it a bit for Banjo) However, I will include in the next order to Ederly also a set of ACRI to try....

Thank you Jonathan & Michael for yr feedback. I was also using same pick set for all instruments until some months ago. I used the pedal steel pick also for banjo. However I found recently that using more bent picks I can have a more clean and fast rolls on my banjo. Maybe because I've changed B...

Different picks for "similar" instruments ?

Hello to everybody. I'm living this dilemma because in my group I use to play pedal steel guitar and banjo (not together :whoa:) Lately I've realized that it is better to use different pick sets depending on the instrument. Playing banjo I wear bent and angled metal picks + plastic shortened thumb p...

Rob, I think the situation can be different between banjo types in principle. I started with a Fender Banjo + shadows SH930 bridge PU + DI and the PA. I had problem about the volume and background undesidered noise. SO that I insert in the line also a Volume pedal to adjust signal when required. SHR...

Thanks a lot Doug and Ollin for the feedback. I'll try your suggested settings.I'm looking for a clean tone with good strings separation sound. I think also to use a MIC in front the XL 80 speaker to enter in the PA instead of connecting them via cable. I hope the sound will be better.

Which In Ear system wiil you suggest me ?

I'm playin in a Italian Bluegrass band since 30 years, All Acustic instruments, all singers, so that we use 10 MIC on the stage. As you can image very difficult NOT to have larsen or interference between MIC's and Speakers. Main problems are related to Monitors, that are closer to MIC's so that we a...

Ciao Olli. Thanks for yr suggestion, However the PSG case still needs space on the stage. I'm trying to reduce space using the PGS case as a seat if possible. Maybe I can ask to the suggested supplier to make a new case for my Willy to use also as a seat? Maybe it will cost a lot. I'll investigate al...

Space problem on the stage? Use the guitar case as a seat !

It's a fact, the stage space is all the time smaller! Yes, the Pub's owners prefear to dedicate more space for customers than for musicians. I'm playing in a bluegrass band, we are 5 and many times the stage surface is less than 10 square meters. This is a big problem. We have in avg 10 instrument c...
