tab and backing track

Hi Bert.
I messed around with string pulls playing resonator.
It's a little easier with lighter string gauges.

By the way, could I get backing tracks and tablature from you?

Thanks! I really appreciate the work you put into your arrangements. Fun to play!

I find it easiest to use a finger-pull rather than a slant for that chord:

5
4
4

I keep the bar on the 4th fret and pull the 3rd string with my 4th finger, raising it a 1/2 step.
A little awkward at first, but it gets easier with practice

Roger,
thanks. Can't say enough good things about Todd. He provided great guidance on the decision making end and worked some miracles undoing previous modifications. the guitar plays like a dream - time machine and tone monster all in one...
Now it's time to look into it's history

Bigsby T-8 with wood necks

There is another thread on this guitar at http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=2517862#2517862 showing before photos. I bought the guitar last year and sent it to Todd Clinesmith for restoration. Here's what it looks like now: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1504/9338_image1_2.jpg ht...

Herb, Rick, thanks for your comments.
Herb, if my abilities ever come within shouting distance of those of players in the golden era of Western Swing, I might be tempted to put my name on the guitar. So it may never happen...
I'm following up a lead on who might have owned the guitar new though...

Hi, just wanted to share a couple of "after" photos to show Todd Clinesmith's handiwork. Absolute pleasure dealing with him. His expertise and skills speak for themselves, of course... http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1504/9338_image2_1.jpg http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/userpix1504/9...

Chas,
thanks for the photos. That's what I wish the underside of my guitar looked like.
Interesting that Bigsby's changers accommodate both raising and lowering string pitch, whereas the Wright changers (at least the ones on my guitar) do raises only.

Here's a few more pics. Shows the underside as it was when I bought it - pulleys, cables and changers in a polychrome paint scheme. Must've been the thing to do at the time... The most unfortunate thing is probably the removal of the original owner's name from the apron. http://bb.steelguitarforum.c...

Chas: Thanks. After removing thick coats of green paint from end plates the date became readable: 7-1-54 Originally non-pedal, seems to have been converted to pedal (necks 1 and 2) early on with Wright parts. Has signs of having had a headstock changer, although not Bigsby Rick: Thanks for the inter...

This is the guitar: After clean-up and re-stringing it plays as it should. Currently in C6-A6-E13. Finding information on original owner seems a long shot. If anyone knows who might have played a wood necked T-8 in the mid fifties (probably Northern California), any information would be appreciated....
