I'm looking specifically for an Emmons push-pull. I'd prefer an S10 (for the weight savings) but an SD10 would also be okay.

I just edited my post to say that an SD10 would also be considered. Thanks for reading!

Emmons S10 or SD10 Push-pull wanted

Hello, I'm looking for an Emmons S10 or SD10 original push-pull in good playing condition with a minimum setup of 3p+4kl (5kl preferably, one vertical). If the legs happen to be 1" shorter than standard, even better! Any sellers out there?

Recording dry to "tape" is generally a good idea, but a competent recording engineer should be able to provide you with ambience (reverb and/or delay) for monitoring purposes if you ask for it. Personally, I think a sound with zero ambience (if even just a decent room sound) is very uninsp...

I raise G# to A#(Bb) on P0, along with lowering 9th string D to C#. I use it largely with P1 and sometimes the E raises and lowers (for open F#7/9, F#maj7/9 and F#6/9, respectively). I can get a full range of F# major chords and a lot of great vertical harmonized and chromatic scales. Lowering 9 to ...

The Isaacs change on P4 can be cool, but I think that raising 6 to A# is even more useful (for great F#7/9 moves with or without P3). You can easily re-tune the string 6 raise to have either one, actually. I find a 9th string root with P1+P2 or P2+P3 more useful for maj7 chords, but YMMV...

Tim, the only reason I can see for having the 1,2,7 raises on LKR instead of RKL would be to enable using it with 2,9 lowers on RKR. I can see the usefulness of that, but for myself, I don't think I want to relearn my knee lever locations so late in life :) . As for your lowering 3 to G and 6 to F# ...

I have to disagree, Mike. I use the heck out of that (lowering both Bs) on the vertical to split an A or C pedal's C# to C. Why is that a mistake?

I failed to read the entire thread - some interesting thoughts there. I like playing 9,8,7,6 for a 4-major 7th (pedals down) and descending through the 3 minor by engaging RKR, dropping two frets for the 2-minor. That half-step raise spoils it. It does spoil that if you absolutely need the legato m...
