Just a thought. I am new to pedal steel although I had a maverick years ago. I can pick this one up for $500. Could just do some restoration.

I know some guys say to leave it as is but I would love to covert it to triple raise/lower and 5 pedal/5 knee. Maybe a fun project.

What Shobud model?

Saw a pic of a older shobud supposedly around 1973. Looks like a Pro but doesn’t have a model on the head end. It’s 10 string, 3x4. Had a single raise and single lower changer. Curious as to what the model might be. Trying to find pics again.

Wanted an all pull S10 or SD10

Had a Shobud Maverick years ago. I have the fever again. Looking for a decent used all pull S10 or SD10. 3p/4k minimum.

Thanks

Too old?

I had a Shobud Maverick for years but sold it a couple of years ago. Never really learned to play. Then I had a stroke and was out of commission for at least 5 years. Now I am interested in the steel again. I have played bass and acoustic guitar for years. I know music theory and number charting ver...

Carpsteel

What happened with Rains Carpsteel? I havent heard anything about this steel for quile. Do they still make it? I am looking for a low budget 3p/4k steel.

Just found out that the Carpsteel is being made by someone else under the name of Legend.

I am still interested in a used steel 3p/4k.

THanks for all the responses. I couldnt believe the $2000 offer. All I know is that it was from someone in Nashville that deals in equipment and said that the Session 500 is a high dollar item that steel players are looking for. Didnt really make sense for me. I have checked other listings for the t...

Peavey Session 500

A guy in my band bought a Peavey Session 500 at an estate auction. It is in absolutely MINT condition. Has a removable caster frame on the bottom. Someone has already offered him $2000 for it. I know this is very much in demand item. I am asking opinions from you guys about this amp and what would b...

want to buy - pickup for Shobud Maverick

Looking for a replacement pickup for a Shobud Maverick. This Maverick is the dark woodgrain laminate and does not have the raised neck like natural wood finished Mavericks. Prefer original type but will consider any that will work.

Barry, I agree. Todays country, most of it, really sucks. I have even started writing a song called "There Ain't No Good Songs No More. About a guy reminiscing about growing listening to the Opry, then thru George Jones and Buck and Vern, etc. And on and on and on and about todays country and h...

I have a maverick just like this. It is standard maple wood with a kind of woodgrain formica on top. There is a rebuilder that can covert these to 3P/4K with a new changer. I have heard that it equals a PRO I but with triple raise and lower. Not sure how much a conversion from a maverick costs. Anyo...
